Hey guys! Essay deadline just around the corner, so it's time for some more forced blogging!
As the title might suggest, yes, I've recently acquired one of them Twitter things. Twitter, for the uninitiated, is pretty much Facebook status Updates but with nothing else that Facebook does. And for some reason it's addictive as hell. I've almost become an incredibly minor celebrity out of it - I tweeted a question to Rock Paper Shotgun, and they answered it on their weekly podcast! For a millisecond, all fifty or so listeners knew who I was, God dammit!
As for my academic life, that's going pretty well. Essays and presentations from the previous blog are all out of the way thank goodness, and the year is pretty much over.
How have I developed over the past year? I guess I've come to learn that (takes out own trumpet in preparation for blowing it, very hard) I'm a lot better at the scriptwriting lark than I thought I was (blows trumpet hard). The 75% I got for my episode drama was completely unexpected - maybe I have a shot at making a living out of this after all.
If you're looking for something a little less smug, I could also say that I've become a little less serious about what I write. Before, I was writing stuff that felt mechanical - very proper, very logical - how Mr. Spock would write a script if he wasn't too busy being aweseome all the time. Now I write a bit more like I'd imagine Captain Kirk would - with a bit more flare, and much more daring. The New Star Trek, by the way, was INCREDIBLE. Go see it.
Oh yeah, and I know I promised I'd get those FaceBook reviews up but I really can't be bothered tonight. Perhaps tomorrow, when I've nothing to do.
